AMED - A delegation was formed to retrieve the dead bodies from Sur where the curfew was lifted for 2 hours in one street. The delegation returned back without retrieving the bodies because of conflicts.

A curfew has been imposed in the Sur district of Diyarbakır for 42 days. İsa Oran, Mesut Seviktek, Ramazan Öğüt and Rozerin Çukur were killed during the curfew. Their families could not retrieve their bodies from Sur and started a hunger strike to retrieve the bodies. Today the District Governorship announced that the curfew would be lifted for 2 hours in one street. After the announcement, activist groups İHD Diyarbakır Branch, the HDP, DTK, MAZLUMDER formed a delegation to retrieve the dead bodies. The delegation went to Sur with 3 ambulances provided by Diyarbakır Municipality. The police did not allow the delegation to go inside of Sur because of "security". The delegation turned back from the district without retrieving the bodies.

Sibel Yiğitalp, the HDP MPs, one of the delegation said, "Our dead bodies have been in the area for 21 days. The police said we could retrieve the bodies, but then they did not allow us, saying they can not guarantee our security. There were many special forces and armored vehicles in the area. We don't want to lose more people, so we returned."
