ŞIRNEX – Six residents killed by Turkish state forces in the town of Cizre, where the state has reacted violently to the people’s demand for self-government, have been buried in the town of İdil.
Ali Tetik, Dikran Sayaca, Nebi Katlav, Lütfi Aksu, and brothers Halil and Nihat Sömer were killed in various attacks by Turkish state forces on the town of Cizre. A crowd of thousands joined a funeral ceremony for the xix in the town of İdil.
Ambulances carried the coffins, wrapped in the red, yellow and green of the Kurdish flag, from the İdil State Hospital to the İdil municipality. A crowd of thousands, including Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Parliamentary representatives, carried the six coffins on their shoulders to the Şeyh Hasan Cemetery. The crowd chanted slogans such as “martyrs never die” during the march.
After religious rites, Ali Tetik, Dikran Sayaca and Nebi Katlav were buried.
“The ones who killed Ali are the real terrorists,” said Azime Tetik, speaking on behalf of the family of Ali Tetik at the funeral.
Lütfi Aksu, Halil Sömer and Nihat Sömer were sent to the nearby village of Yarbaşı (Hespist in Kurdish) for a ceremony there, attended by hundreds of villagers from the area.
