Women on hunger strike: Everyone should speak out

ADANA - Women started a two-day hunger strike in Adana to protest the blockades and ongoing killing in Kurdistan. Stressing the silence in the west of Turkey,women said, "We call on the public to respond."
More than 20 political, social and religious organizations started a two-day hunger strike two days ago in the IHD (Human Rights Association) office in Adana.The people who participated in the hunger strike said, "Everyone should do whatever they can to end the ongoing killing."
Tülin Şahin, a member of Socialist Women's Council, was wounded in the Suruç massacre.
"Everyone should speak out against the blockades in Kurdistan. The state kills women,children and elderly, allegedly in the trenches. But we know the resistance behind the trenches.They just defend themselves," Tülin said.
Reacting to the policy of war, a member of the HDP, Gülsüme Kılıç said, "The state kills Kurdish as well as Turkish. The soldiers and police killed in the region are killed by the state."
Saime Uçar, a member of the Revolutionary Party called on the public to respond.
