Families on hunger strike for 17 days

AMED - For 17 days, the families of four young people slain by the Turkish state in Diyarbakır have been on hunger strike. Stating 17-year-old Rozerin and Ramazan have been graveless for 17 days, Elif Öğüt, one mother on hunger strike, said, "Don't wither their immaculate bodies, don't wither the humanity."

Families of Mesut Seviktek and İsa Oran who were killed 25 days ago, Ramazan Öğüt who was killed 18 days ago and Rozerin Çukur who was killed nine days ago in Sur where has been under blockade and onslaught for 47 days, started a hunger strike to obtain the bodies of their children which the state is refusing to allow them to Access 17 days ago. The health conditions of the families are getting worse. The families who have difficulty in speaking,said " We will continue the hunger strike against denied the right to bury their children."

Many people visit the families everyday. The families say to people who come to visit them, "Don't come here. Go to join the protest for Sur. Go and march to lift the blockade.We don't want another children will be killed."
