MÊRDÎN – As the town of Dargeçit, Turkey recovers from a 19-day curfew maintained by state forces, a circus show was held for the children of the town.

The Turkish state declared a 24-hour curfew in the district of Dargeçit in Mardin province for 19 days in December. Activists have held a circus performance for children, those most affected by the curfew.

Members of the Rojava Solidarity Association came to the town to hold a circus performance for children in the Safa neighborhood. The slogan of the performance was, “streets are where children play; they can’t be shut down.”
