ŞIRNEX - In the town of Cizre, Turkish state forces attacked a group of people attempting to retrieve the wounded and the dead in the Cudi neighborhood. Selman Erdoğan was critically wounded in the attack. Police took him to police station instead of taking him to hospital. Selma Erdoğan could not be saved. Selma passed away in Cizre State Hospital.

The people of Cizre, among them the municipal co-mayors and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Faysal Sarıyıldız, attempted to retrieve wounded citizens and the bodies of the dead from the Cudi neighborhood. The group hoped to retrieve the dead bodies of Serhat Altun, Ahmet Tunç and Mehmet Kaplan, as well as four wounded citizens inside the neighborhood. As the citizens arrived at Nusaybin Avenue, armored vehicles began raking the crowd with gunfire. 10 people were wounded in the attack. Selman Erdoğan was critically wounded in the attack. Police took him to police station instead of taking him to hospital. Heavily wounded Selma Erdoğan died from blood loss in the hospital.

Abdulhamit Poçal, member of council of Cizre Municipality, was wounded in the same attack and he passed away in the Cizre State Hospital yesterday.
