ANKARA – A woman named Helin Öncü was wounded today in the town of Cizre, where Turkish state forces are preventing her from being taken to the hospital. The ECHR has issued an injunction calling for Helin to receive medical care.

The Association of Liberatory Lawyers opened a case at the ECHR calling for wounded woman Helin Öncü to be allowed access to medical care, as Turkish state forces continue practices of opening fire on those trying to help the women.

The ECHR responded with an injunction, the fourth in several days, calling for Helin’s right to medical care to be recognized.
