Gültan Kışanak, the co-mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, said, "Journalists in Kurdistan are working in very difficult conditions. Freedom of the press is the basis of all other fredooms. We learn the truth through the free press. Today journalists are prevented from presenting factual news. However, journalists are working for the people's right to receive the news despite these difficult conditions."

Uğur Güç, the president of TGS, said, "Our colleagues in Istanbul will come to Kurdistan to act in solidarity with the journalists in this area. They will hold a vigil with them. We will try to reflect what is going on in Kurdistan."
