JINHA reporter on trial for sharing interviews

WAN - Our reporter Rojda Oğuz who are in Van M Type Closed Prison, was exposed to verbal violence and gender expressions during four days detention period. Rojda was charged for 'being member of a terrorist organisation' and 'sharing interviews'.
The police organised raids to KYK(student dormitory) and many students houses on January 5 in Van. Our reporter Rojda Oğuz-student in Van Yüzüncü Yıl University- and 16 students were taken into custody. Rojda Oğuz and 5 student were sent to the Court to be arrested. Rojda was sent to prison by charging for 'being member of a terrorist organisation'. Rojada told that she was exposed to verbal violence and gender expressions by sending a letter to us. Police asked her why she is working for JINHA and they told her "If you don't have money, we can find a job for you or we can organize a position in other press organizations."
Rojda wrote in the letter that "A country can not be free without press freedom."
