TIL TEMIR - Roza Serhed, one of the commanders in Rojava's Women's Defense Forces, stated that YPS and YPS-Jin have been founded to stop genocide of Kurds and that YPJ-JIN will put up a strong fight.

Women are increasingly reacting against the AKP state's genocidal war on Kurds. The YPJ made its name known to the world by resisting against Daesh gangs and its supporters. Roza Serhed, one of the YPJ commanders, said that the YPS (Civil Defense Units) was founded by the people against Turkey's attacks. YPS emerged as a result of defense needs. Roza said, "YPS is the defense forces against the bullying of Kurds. We believe in Northern Kurdistan people. They will gain a big success by supporting all Kurdistan."

Roza congratulated young people for founding YPS and said, "YPS forces will defend our people and they will be a model for all other forces. I wish my condolences for all martyr families. The founding of the Civil Defense Units is a big step for the defense of the North."

Touching on the resistance of women, Roza said, "Turkey especially attacks women. They know if women do not join the resistance, they will break people's will. Because of this, civilian women and Civil Defense Units must perform a strong struggle. YPS-Jin (Women's Civil Defense Units) will display a strong struggle. Erdoğan wants to leave Kurds without identity, language and will. However, Kurdish people will ruin his dream. We believe in women's power to ruin this plan."
