'Curfew' spreads to 5 neighborhoods in Sur

AMED - Martial law under the name of "curfews" has been imposed in six neighborhoods of Sur for nearly two months. It has spread to five other Sur neighborhoods and Melikahmet Avenue today.
For 56 days, a blockade and martial law have been imposed in six neighborhoods of the Sur district of Diyarbakır. The Sur Governorship made a statement and declared "curfew" in five more neighborhoods. The statement reads: "We declare 'curfews' in the Abdaldede, Alipaşa, Lalebey, Süleyman Nazif and Ziya Gökalp neighborhoods and Melikahmet Avenue in Sur on January 27, 2016 starting at 11:30 a.m. until further notice."
Meanwhile, police announced from armored vehicles "leave your homes" in the neighborhoods today in the morning. Clashes broke out on Melikahmet Avenue.
