Rmêlan women become stronger with self-defense training

RMÊLAN - Rmêlan Defense Forces start a self-defense training program for women in order to protect their lands against gang attacks. Women who are attending the training program stated that they didn't want to be sold in the slave bazaars like Shengal and Mosul women. They said they were stronger with self-defese training and they would protect their lands.

Defense Forces start a self-defense training program against the ongoing attacks on Rojava. The first training program started in the city of Rmêlan in Cizîr Canton. 40 people, including 13 women, are attending the program. Newroz Mihemed, co-chair of Girkê Legê Self-Defense Forces, spoke to our agency. Stating that not only people in the cities but also in villages participate to the training program, Newroz said, " We give military, theoretical and ideological lessons. Self-defense training is more important then water and bread for women. Women who participate the program, have more confident."

Ayten Hisên came from Hilêqê village to participate the training program. Ayten said us, " Self-defense training is very important for us. Our revolution is known as women's revolution. Then Women should create the self-defense forces of the revolution. As a young woman, I wanted to participate to the program and I did. As women, we have learned a lot in the traning program. We don't want to be sold in the slave bazaars like Shengal and Mosul women. Women need to have self-defense training."

Behîce Nûrî, another woman in the training program, said, " My main reason participate to this training program is primarily defend myself and then all other women. Women should participate to the self-defense training program to protect themselves, their neighborhoods and their homes."

Heznê Temo, co-mayor of Girkê Legê Municipality, said, " As a young woman, I need to self-defense training. This training is important. The risk is still continuing for the people and revolution. I am happy to have the self-defense training. I can protect myself and the people now."
