ŞIRNEX - For eight days, 19 wounded Cizre residents have been trapped in a basement under bombardment by Turkish state forces. Today, the wounded people left the basement to reach ambulances. State forces attacked them, even though authorities had been informed of the plan to retrieve the wounded. Sultan Irmak, one of the wounded, passed away due to state forces' attacks. Again, ambulances attempted to reach the basement today. However, state forces refused the ambulances access to the wounded.

Eight days ago, 28 people were wounded in Turkish state attacks in the besieged town of Cizre. No ambulance has been able to reach them as of yet, as Turkish state forces bombard the house and prevent ambulance access. After HDP MPs met with Interior Ministry officials, an ambulance and three volunteer healthcare workers were sent to Emir Tacdin Street, a location only 700 meters from the basement. The wounded were told to walk to the ambulance. State forces started to attack the building just as the wounded began to leave the basement. It was reported that the wall of the basement has been demolished in the attacks.

The connection with the wounded was cut for a while after this attack. When those outside regained contact, the wounded reported that teenage girl Sultan Irmak had passed away and the survivors could not get out of the basement due to the collapsing wall. Police officials didn't accept claims that the wall collapsed. Thereupon, the Cizre Governorship sent two fire fighters from the Cizre Municipality to check the building. However, they were stopped by state forces.

Once again, the municipal ambulance, which remained waiting in Emir Tacdin Street, were sent back due to alleged "clashes." According to reports, the attacks are continuing around the building. There is no news from the wounded yet.
