MÊRDÎN - Sêvê Demir was executed with her two comrades in the Silopi district of Şırnak. Sêvê passed the resistance torch to her mother Sakine Demir. Sakine has maintained the vigil in the Girêmîra village of Nusaybin. Sakine said, "If one Sêvê goes, thousands will come. I pick up the struggle where she left off."

Fire of resistance is growing in the Girêmîra village of Nusaybin for Cizre. Mothers took over the resistance torch from their children in Girêmîra. One of them is Sakine Demir. Her daughter Sêvê Demir, a member of DBP Assembly, was slained in the Silopi district of Şırnak on January 4,2016. Sakine said, "I came here to take over my daughter's torch. I lost my comrate, not my child. My daughter loved the people and the struggle and she died for them. I am proud of her.

"I decided to take a part in the struggle to be worthy of my daughter. My daughter spent her life for women's resistance. My daughter could be saved. However, special forces went to home instead of ambulance and they slained my daughter and her friends. I experienced that before so I don't want the wounded in Cizre get in the state's ambulance. If the wounded get in the state ambulance, they will be slained. We must go to home and evacuate them together. Our young people must live. Sêvê gave her eyeteeth for them. Youth must build a free life. As mothers, we believe in them."
