Women's Initiative for Peace (BİKG) started a campaign with the slogans such as 'We stand by life, not death. We uphold our right of peace and truth'. An sit down strike was organized under the campaign. Thousands of women gathered in Kadıköy İskele Square under police's blockade. The women unfurled the banners. Ceylan Bağrıyanık, the coordination member of KJA, Sebahat Tuncel, former co-speaker of HDK, and thousands of women attended the sit down strike. They made a press statement.

Sinem Şahin read the statement on behalf of women. The statement reads, " People are threatened in some cities just to say 'stop the war'. They have left the dead bodies in the streets since July. Like Sinem, Ekin Taybet and more. We don't consent to this war. They are planning to build seven police stations in Cizre. They cannot provide security of people by building police stations. Therefore, let's build a life together. We don't want a Cizre (district of Şırnak) without people in."

Sinem reached to the government by referring to the wounded in Cizre residents have been trapped in a basement. Sinem said, "Who is responsible for the death? Why an independent committee not be created? The Interior Minister said, "The ambulances can pass". However, the ambulances have been blocked. We stand by life. We have no more endurance left for a more death.
"We will ask for peace in these lands where Sêvê and other people were slained. While there is a war in Cizre, there cannot be a peace in Istanbul."
