ŞIRNEX - Residents of Silopi had to leave their houses during 37 days martial law under the name "curfew". They are returning to their houses now. Residents said, " We will rebuild our houses, we will bild a new life together and never leave our lands again."
For 37 days, the martial law, under the name "curfew" continued in the Silopi district of Şırnak. Residents whose had to leave their house, are returning back. They are rebulding their houses for a new life. Mother of 10, Sarya Mutlu stayed at her house for 20 days during "curfew" and resisted against the attacks. Sarya was forced to leave her house by soldiers. Sarya said, " They forced me and my children to leave our home. When I returned, I found my two-storey house demoslihed. I had a cow. I gave milk to my children owing to the cow. They killed my cow too. Enuogh. Stop this war. No one should die. We will defend our lands to the last drop of blood."
Bese Mutlu, another woman in the city, said, "I performed prayer when they shelled my house. I took my children and went to basement without finishing my prayer. We will not leave to resist, even if the State kills us or demolish our houses. We demand our own identity and our own language. We want to speak our language how they do. My mother and father were born in these lands. I was born here too. These lands are ours. I never give up our rightful struggle."
