ŞIRNEX -For 11 days, a group of wounded citizens have been trapped in a collapsing basement in the town of Cizre, under Turkish state siege. Hundreds have tried to enter the city to evacuate the wounded. However, state forces have stopped them.

Dozens of wounded Cizre residents have been trapped in a basement by a state bombardment for 11 days now. After Turkish state forces blocked ambulances to the area and fired on the wounded when they tried to leave the basement, there has been no word from the wounded for three days now.

The Botan March was organised by the DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) to protest the blockade and onslaught in Cizre. They started a vigil of resistance 12 days ago. Today there would be a march to Cizre for wounded citizens. However, state forces attacked the people joining the vigil of resistance in Girêmîra neighborhood of Mardin's Nusaybin district with tear gas and water cannon. According to the reports, more than 150 citizens have been taken into custody, among them the reporters of GÜN TV Ayşe Kara and Eren Siverek. State forces have closed routes into and out of the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, hundreds of citizens, among them HDP MP Ferhat Encü tried to enter the town from Şırnak and its cities Gundikê Melê (Balveren) and Dêrgul (Kumçatı). However, state forces stopped them in the Kasrik city of Şırnak. The group put up tents and began a resistance in Kasrik. As of this afternoon, they started a resistance vigil in the town.
