AMED - Martial law under the name of "curfews" has been imposed in 11 neighborhoods of Sur for more than two months. It has spread to whole Sur neighborhoods yesterday night.

For 64 days, a blockade and martial law have been imposed in 11 neighborhoods of the Sur district of Diyarbakır. The Sur Governorship made a statement and declared "curfew" in four more neighborhoods. Thus "curfew" has spread to whole neighborhoods of the historic district. The statement reads: "We declare 'curfews' in the Camii Kebir, Camii Nebi, İskenderpaşa ve Melikahmet neighborhoods in Sur on February 03, 2016 starting at 23:09 p.m. until further notice."
