WAN - Ümran Kurt, a member of the DBP Van Province Organization, pointed out the increasing number of killing of women every day. She cited the resistance of women in Rojava and Shengal who are fighting against the male mentality. "We must collaborate and prevent the killing of women," said Ümran.

As the AKP and palace's war concept are targetting women in the cities of Kurdistan, male violence which is fed by the state violence is targetting the women in the western provinces. The number of women who have been killed during the war is over 70. However, 303 women have been killed as a result of men violence in the recent year. Münteha Bildirici, a member of the Democratic Islamic Congress, stated that the number of killing of women has increased due to the policies of the AKP government. Women are shown as a commodity and object in society through the use of Islamism.

Ümran Kurt said, "If we want to go somewhere, we have to check with our father and brother. Beside this, we are killed under the name of honor. The State fear women's power. For this reason the State wants to confine the women in the home. We must collaborate and prevent the killing of women."
