ŞIRNEX - For 14 days, wounded Cizre residents have been trapped in a basement. All attempts to evacuate the wounded and dead bodies have remained inconclusive. For more six days, communication with the wounded has been cut. According to reports received, 37 residents have been trapped in another building, among them wounded residents.

For 14 days, wounded in Cizre have been waiting for rescue from a basement in a building in the town. Mehmet Tunç, co-chair of Cizre People's Assembly, talked to Özgür Gün TV yesterday. He said that 37 residents, among them wounded, have been trapped in a another building in the Cudi neighborhood of Cizre, Şırnak province. 37 residents stayed on the first storey of the building. A fire broke out on the second storey due to state forces attacks. Fire brigade crew set out to put out the fire. However, state forces didn't allow them to enter the neighborhood.

According the reports given by Mehmet Tunç, nine of 37 citizens burned to death. Mehmet said, "28 residents are alive. However, some of them are burned. They cannot live a more day under these conditions. Mortar attacks have continued. The armored vehicles drive in front of the building."

The fire has ccontinued on the second and third storey of the building.
