ŞIRNEX – Yesterday evening, Turkish state news channel TRT claimed that state forces conducted an operation on the basement where wounded citizens are trapped in the town of Cizre, killing nearly 60 people. Police have locked down the town’s hospital this morning and have begun bringing in dead bodies.

In the besieged town of Cizre in Şırnak province, Turkish state forces have for weeks launched all-out assaults on two separate buildings in the town where the wounded have taken refuge in basements.

Yesterday evening, TRT News made shocking claims that state forces launched an operation on the basement of a building and that nearly 60 people were killed. Meanwhile, local sources reported that violent explosions were heard in the area between 5 and 6 p.m., but that there were no gunshots heard.

This morning, police arrived at the Cizre State Hospital, where they confined personnel to a single room and then began transporting the bodies of those they had executed to the hospital.

It also emerged that police had retrieved a large number of body bags from the hospital, suggesting that the massacre was planned in advance.

Social media accounts linked to members of the state forces have shared photographs of the massacre. The photographs show that one body has been completely burned, while two others are entirely covered in dust.
