İSTANBUL - Today we received the news of dozens death from Cizre where attacks have continued for 57 days. We still hear their words "Give a voice". We asked the "basement of savagery" and mass murder to the citizens on the street of Istanbul. The citizens said, "We don't want to live in same country with the people who are happy about the murder of others." These sentences reveal how the West is desperated and blockaded.
The power is carryin a concept of total war into the cities and towns of Kurdistan. Kurdish people call on the people in West, " Your silence is killing us not bombs." First the HDP MP Faysal Sarıyıldız announced that nearly 30 wounded were trapped in a basement in Cizre and they waited to be evacuated to hospital. Then co-chair of Cizre People's Assembly, Mehmet Tunç's scream on air and the scream of people in basement "Friends water give water!", "We are under the debris, help". However, these words were not enough to break the silence of the West. The President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "The wounded were not allowed to walk to ambulance. Maybe there isn't wounded in the basement." These words were a foreshadow of the massacre in Cizre. Yesterday evening, TRT News and Anadolu Agency made shocking claims that state forces launched an operation on the basement of a building and that nearly 60 'terrorist' were neutralized. According to the Sirnak Governor's Office, this number was 10. According to the statements of eyewitnesses and the HDP, 30 people were were executed and burnt without any bullet marks on them. Maybe they used chemical weapons on them. The silence of the West has continued since the war began in Kuridstan. We talked to the people in Istanbul.
We talked to Duygu Arslan. She said she heard the "basement of savagery" before and this massacre is a genocide. She said, "The media says they are 'terorist' and many people are happy of killing them. We don't want tol ive in the same country with the people who are happy about the murder of others." Duygu said "My heart hurted so bad when I heard the news."
We met with Seçil Çiftçi in the street. We asked her if she heard the "basement of savagery". A tear felt down from her eyes when she heard the name. Seçil started to talk by saying how she is sad fort he massacre in Cizre. She said, "I follow the news without looking if they are Kurds or Turks. And these incidents give me a deep shock. However, I am sos ad to not do anything."
Mehmet Öz, a Turkish citizen in Istanbul, said, "I wish such incidents occured no where in the World. We want a World with peace and democracy." Meanwhile, another citizen Ahmet Aktaş said he received the news on TV and he wanted the negotiation process would be restarted again.
At the end, we talked to Taylan Özgür. He said, "We have to resist tol ive. I call on all people to not keep silent against the massacre."
