AMED/WAN – Women reacted to a woman was killed and her naked body was put on display in Cizre like in Varto district of Muş. Women said, “You cannot reduce us to silence by putting on display the naked bodies. The naked body of our friend is our nakedness. Because the body in the nakedness is our willpower. We will resist and gain.”

As dozens of people are executed in the Cizre district of Şırnak. Yesterday, a photograph of naked woman was shared on social media by state forces. The woman was tortured and exhibited on social media. On August 10, YJA STAR guerrilla Kevser Eltürk (Ekin Wan) died in a clash with Turkish security forces in the district of Varto, in Muş province of Turkey.

Women reacted the exhibition of naked women. Sevim Adsoy stated that the brutality practiced over the female body in order to scare women and put them in houses. Sevim said, “But women are not scared. Women will resist until the end. We will respond to the masculine mentality by resisting. We will strengthen our resistance with the resistance of women in Cizre and Sur.”

Berivan Sincer expressed that they have had a priod in which ignored all the values of humanity by the 24-hour curfews since August. Berivan said, “ Our people are resisting against these attacks. Our women and youth are exhibiting a glorious resistance. This savagery was started last year by killing and exhibiting of Ekin Wan. This savagery is continuing in Cizre ‘basements of savagery’ today. They have tortured the dead bodies. They have tortured the humanity in this way. Of course, our people will not stay silent against these tortures.”

Sarya Ölmez said they will never approve the exhibition of women’s bodies. She said, “ We, as women, will continue this resistance by receiving the courage from Cizre women’s willpower. The AKP is scared from women’s resistance. We know that and we will not stay silent.”
Women said that they are not ashamed of our nakedness. They called on all people to rise their voice against the savagery in Kurdistan.
