RIHA - Halfeti women condermned February 15 in Abdullah Öcalan's village Amara."On February 15, 1999, PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan was abducted and captured in an international plot with the cooperation of multiple countries' intelligence services."
Women's conference was held in the Amara village of Halfeti, Urfa province, on the anniversary of February 15, under the leadership of the Free Women's Congress (KJA). February 15 plot was condemned in the conference under the slogan "Statu for Kurdistan with self-government and freedom for Leadership". Zeliha Güngören, co-chair of the HDP Halfeti, Afife Canpolat, co-chair of the DBP, district organization managers and the women in Amara attended the meeting. Women shouted slogan "Long live Leader APO (Abdullah Öcalan) " in the meeting.
The meeting was began with stand in silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom. Afife Canpolat, the co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) said, "Leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan) rebelled against the world for the freedom of Kurdish people. He made the Kurdish people be reborn from the ashes. Therefore, he was abducted and captured in an international plot and he was brought to Turkey. He is exposed to the torture in İmralı Island. We, as Kurdish women, will never accept Öcalan's captivity."
After the speeches, women individually expressed their views on the conspiracy.
