Ayşe Dicle: They're trying to hide the Cizre Massacre

AMED - A crisis desk was formed to identify the dead bodies whose were killed in Cizre's "basements of savagery" by the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), the Mesopotamia Association of Assistance and Solidarity for Families with Lost Relatives (MEYA-DER) and Mesopotamia Lawyers Association (MHD). The crisis desk informed that 145 dead bodies have been transfered to hospitals so far.

Residents in Cizre, among them wounded, had been trapped in three basements in the Sur and Cudi neighborhoods of Cizre, Şırnak province. All residents were killed in the basements by Turkish state forces. The dead bodies were sent to different hospitals in Turkey. Sending the bodies to different hospitals was came to mind a question, "Are they trying hide the Cizre massacre." A crisis desk was formed to identify the dead bodies have been transfered to hospitals. The crisis desk informed that 145 dead bodies have been transfered to hospitals so far. Meanwhile, they says the number of the dead bodies can be rise to 200.

Ayşe Dicle, co-chair of the Mesopotamia Association of Assistance and Solidarity forFamilies with Lost Relatives (MEYA-DER), said, "The savagery has continued in Cizre. The dead bodies have been retrieved from streets. The number of dead bodies is 145 now. However, it can be rise to 200."

Ayşe expressed that they have formed a pilot area in Mardin. The families who are looking for their children, can go to the crisis desk and give a blood sample. Ayşe said, "We, as witness of this massacre and the relatives of the killed people, cannot find any word to say. They say [Turkey] "we are like brothers and sisters and we are joined at the hip." They say that but they don't practice that. However, we, as Kurdish people, never forget what they have done to our people's dead bodies and the savagery they have imposed us."

Ayşe said, "They are trying to bury the dead bodies without performing autopsy to cover up the massacre. As if it wasn't enough that we're dying, we're trying to prove that we're dying. They are still killing people in Cizre. However, they will pay for this. Kurdish people will call them to account."
