MÊRDÎN – Nusaybin women have continued to resist against the state’s blockade and attacks for months behind the barricades. Women said that they wouldn’t leave their homes. “The people constructed the barricades. No one rejoice in vain. Nusaybin people are here. No one go anywhere.”
The people’s resistance has continued against the AKP government’s martial law under the concept of full war. The AKP government has continued to attacks and massacre with its war-medias. The AKP goverment’s war medias outlets have recently run news claiming that people in Nusaybin are leaving their homes. However, the people haven’t left their homes despite the state’s attacks.
Fatma Deniz, one of women in Nusaybin, emphasized that she hadn’t leave her home despite of the state’s attacks and she would never leave her home. “This lands are our homes, streets and our city. Where will we go by leaving our homes, streets and city? We will stay here even if they take us into custody or kill us. We won’t go anywhere! No one can replaced us from our lands, homes and streets.”
Fatma called on the Human rights defenders and European states “why are you keeping silent? See the oppression which Turkish state is carrying out on its own people. They burned people and homes in Cizre. Don’t keep silent. Don’t confirm what they do. Remain silent is a party to this crime.” reacted Fatma.
Emine Delen, meanwhile, pointed out that state forces want to replaced the Nusaybin people. “The people constructed the barricades. No one rejoice in vain. Nusaybin people are here. No one go anywhere. We will fight to the last drop of blood for our lands. The state attacks us under cover of barricades. These barricades and trenchs are here to protect the people from state forces. If there weren’t trenchs, state forces already killed all of them and demolished our homes now.”said Emine.
Sevê Sakin reacted the statement that the YPS entered the streets and constructed the barricades by force. “These barricates didn’t be constructed by force. On the contrary, the people constructed them to protect themselves against the state’s attacks.”
Fevziye Açılmış, another woman in Nusaybin, said that they would resist with the YPS to the end. “Nusaybin people don’t leave their homes. They say that all the people have left Nusaybin. Who went where. We are here. Why do we leave our homes? We will resist with our children to the end.”
