Êzid women's self- defense force to organize under the name 'YJŞ'

SHENGAL - YPJ-Shengal held its first conference. Women announced that the name of organization was changed into Shengal Women Unite (YJŞ) in the conference. " YJŞ is a defence force of all Êzid women on Shengal mountains and it will be a tool to revenge from Daesh, all embodiments of male domination and all ideologies which oppressed and enslaved the women."

Women's Defense Units Shengal (YPJ-Shengal) held its first conferance on February 12-13 on Shengal mountains. The final declaration of the conference was announced. A statement was made after the conference. According to the statement, 115 delegates, 30 YPJ-Shengal fighters, Shengal People's Assembly and 20 audiences from Newroz Camp participated in the conference. The statement reads; "Our conference was a conference, alleged awareness of self- defence, self-liberation and put an end to edict. Against the darkness of Daesh, the Êzidî women fighting on behalf of the light of belief and freedom continue to sanctify themselves and struggle in the light of the sun. This struggle is more organized, more conscious, more ambitious and more faithful now.

"We, as Êzid people and women, gathered and organized with awareness and necessary of defense ourselves against the attacks. Women were left defenseless and powerless. Women have paid a heavy price for male's army and war. Women and mothers have had the greatest pain in these lands. However, we say "Stop" to this fate. We don't accept being sold, bought, kidnapped, killed, exposed to all kinds of violence and insults anymore."

Women announced that the name of Women's Defense Units Shengal (YPJ-Shengal) was changed into Shengal Women Unite (YJŞ). "The YJŞ is a defence force of all Êzid women on Shengal mountains and it will be a tool to revenge from Daesh, all embodiments of male domination and all ideologies which oppressed and enslaved the women. May it be an occasion for celebration for all Êzidî women, all the peoples of Kurdistan and the Middle East and all democratic peoples. Long live YPŞ, Long live Free Êzidxan and free women."
