Esra Yakar, medicine student wounded in Kobanê, sentenced 6 years, 3 months

AMED- Esra Yakar, a student at the Medical School of Dicle University in Diyarbakır, went to Kobanê to provide treatment to the wounded. She was seriously wounded during an attack by ISIS. She returned to Turkey to be treated. She was sued in Turkey and she has been sentenced six years and three months. She is charged with "being a member of an armed terrorist organisation".
Esra Yakar, a 5th-grade student at the Medical School of Dicle University in Diyarbakir, went to Kobanê as a volunteer doctor to help treat wounded people in the fighting. She was seriously wounded during an attack by ISIS. She returned to Turkey to be treated on December 7,2014. However, she had been arrested upon her return to Turkey and she was charged with "being a member of an armed terrorist organisation". Esra has been sentenced six years and three months by Diyarbakır 4th Criminal Court.
Esra's lawyers will send the court's decision to appeal.
