AMED - As four-month-old Elif Su Aslan has been trapped in a basement in Sur for nine days, other children have to live under the attacks in the town too. The names of 11 of them have been learned.
For 86 days, the attacks on the Sur district of Diyarbakır have continued. Mazlum Dolan, reporter of Dicle News Agency (DİHA), sent a text on February 17 and informed that they had been trapped in a basement in the town. Four-month-old Elif Su Aslan and her mother Seda Aslan are among the people who have been trapped in basements. Yesterday, Diyarbakır Governor announced that a humanitarian corridor would be opened to evacuate the people from the basements. A delegation, including HDP MPs, went to Sur. However, civilians didn't go out. Civilians who have been trapped in the basements said that they didn't feel safe in a corridor which opened by state forces and they asked to open a corridor with representatives of civil society organizations.
The only child who has been trapped in the basements, is not Elif Su Aslan. According to information shared by MP HDP Sibel Yiğitalp, the names of children who have been trapped in the basements in Sur are;
Elif Su Aslan (4-month-old), Özgür Aslan (3), Muazzez Aslan (4), Rojda Aslan (7), Gülistan Aslan (11), Beritan Tosun (2) Şevin Tosun (10), Ruken (4-5), Berfin (4-5), Kadir Şahin (11, wounded), Furkan Dağ (11, wounded), Talat Abiş (7).
Meanwhile, Remziye Tosun, a civilian live in Sur, sent a text to MP HDP Sibel Yiğitalp. Remziye's text reads, "Please Sibel, don't let my children be killed. They are very small."
