AMED - Yenişehir co-mayors Ülkü Baytaş and Selim Kurbanoğlu were taken into custody while they were distributing leaflets in the Ofis quarter of Diyarbakır.

Co-mayors of Yenişehir Municipality Ülkü Baytaş and Selim Kurbanoğlu distributed the leaflets with the slogan "Raise your voice for Sur" with co-chairs of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), the People's Democratic Party and the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) in the Ofis quarter of Diyarbakır. They were stopped by plainclothes police. The police told them "You cannot distribute the leaflets". However, the co-mayors continued to distribute the leaflets. Police took the co-mayors into custody.

Co-mayors were taken to Yenişehir District Police Department.
