AMED - As siege and onslaught have entered the 87th day in the Sur district of Diyarbakır, state forces have continued to attack basements where civilians have been trapped. For 87 days, the siege and onslaught have continued in the Sur district of Diyarbakır. State forces have attacked the basements where approximately 200 civilians, including children, have been trapped. Diyarbakır women demand the lifting of the curfew in Sur and the opening of a humanitarian corridor to evacuate the wounded from a basement in the district. Güler Seviktek, one women in Diyarbakır, said, " The children who got out from Sur, will be different. They will never forget this oppression. The children who have trapped in Sur's basements are now our dreams, our sleep, our sorrow and our grief. All were our neighbours. We stayed in same neighborhood. They were our children."
Mevlüde Gündüz, meanwhile, said, "People in Europe say that children shouldn't be killed. However, they keep silent against the wounded children who have been trapped in the basements.
They don't let them leave Sur. Two small children are wounded in a basement; no one who has any compassion can kill those children. There are wounded children in Sur. Isn't it a shame? Their humanity hasn't restrained them. If the children who have trapped there, get out, they will never forget that. The state must show mercy to these children. It must lift the martial law in Sur, then the children can get out from there. Why do everyone keep silent?"
Zara Baran said that they would never forget that the state doesn't let the wounded civilians and children to leave Sur. "Erdoğan must lift the 24-hour curfew for wounded civilians in Sur. He must withdraw his tanks and artillery and has the wounded treated. If he is a muslim, he must do that. They have attacked the four corners of Kurdistan for 3-4 months. Is he a muslim? You kill people, you exhibit their bodies, you torture people. You're dragging people behind tanks. And now, you don't let the wounded leave the basements. We will never forget that. The 24-hour curfew must be lifted. We want to evacuate the wounded and children from the basements and retrieve the dead bodies in Sur."
Emine Güzel said, "A middle way must be found. We must evacuate the wounded civilians." And she reacted by saying "Enough, enough of this oppression of the Kurds."
