Political leaders: lift the blockade on Sur

AMED - Co-chairs and co-spokepersons of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK), the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK), the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and the Democratic Regions Party began a vigil and called for Sur blockade to be lifted. All Diyarbakır people were called to an action for Sur on Wednesday.
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) co-chair Kamuran Yüksek, Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) co-spokesperson Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chairs Hatip Dicle and Selma Irmak came to Diyarbakır's Sur district where have been under state forces attacks for 90 days. Co-chairs held a press conference in Tigris Euphrates Cultural Center where people have continued a vigil for Sur. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş made a statement. Selahattin Demirtaş stated that they will hold the vigil too. "Everyone in Diyarbakır and its districts must . We call all our people to march on Wednesday at 4 p.m. to Sur.
Selahattin stated that they, as politicians, made seriously endeavored to stop the death and minimilize the conflicts. We established many dialogues in Ankara and Amed. However, our attempts had not long-lasting results. The AKP has imposed a war and hundreds of people have been killed in this war. We couldn't prevent these. At this point, we're making an effort so that there won't be a single death. We called to stop the destruction. We said that the conflict must have been stopped. If the curfew is lifted today, then tomorrow, there won't be barricades and clashes. We made seriously endeavored. However, they don't decide to lift the blockade despite all our efforts. There are clashes in Sur. There is a resistance out of Sur. The AKP may lost its mind."
Selahattin Demirtaş said that they would hold the vigil in Tigris Euphrates Cultural Center.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chair Selma Irmak stated that children and young people have been under blockade for 90 days. "They are trying to kill these people like in Cizre. Our people are resisting to stop this massacre. However, it is not enough now. We call for our people, the democrats, women, youth and all people to stop this massacre. Let's not let a tragedy. Our people must flow to Sur. If the blockade is lifted, if the clashes are stopped, that time, the clashes will be stopped. If the blockade is lifted, then, there won't be barricades and trenches will be lifted. State forces and special forces say "We will never allow that". They say, "We will kill all of them." We won't draw in our horns until this blockade and siege are lifted. We have to do our part to save our children."
Meanwhile, Women's Initiative for Peace (BİKG) also joined there-day vigil in Tigris Euphrates Cultural Center.
