Children evacuated from Sur, sent to Child Protection Agency

AMED - 19 children, including four-month-old Elif Su, were evacuated from the besieged town of Sur two days ago. The children have been remanded in custody for two days. Two of them were sent to the Child Protection Agency by the decision of the Prosecutor. According to reports, other children will be also sent to the Child Protection Agency.

For 95 days, the siege has continued in the Sur district of Diyarbakır. 44 citizens, including 19 children were evacuated from the town two days ago. The citizens have been remanded in custody for two days. Two children named Kadir Şahin (11) and Talit Abiş (7) were sent to Turkish Social Service and Children Protection Institution by the decision of the Prosecutor. According to reports, Elif Su and other children will be also sent to Turkish Social Service and Children Protection Institution.

The names of children who were evacuated from Sur; Gülistan Arslan (10), Rojda Arslan (7), Muaz Arslan (6), Özgür Arslan (4), Şevin Tosun (9), Beritan Tosun (2), Elif Su Arslan (four-month-old).

Meanwhile, 30 citizens were taken into custody on Wednesday during a march to Sur. The citizens were sent to Diyarbakır Courthouse.
