Ronahi Women's Assembly holds its 2nd congress

BASEL - Ronahi Women's Assembly held its second congress in Basel, Switzerland. Women discussed the assembly's one year's activities in congress and they founded committees for new period.
Rohani Women's Assembly has carried on its activities in the Basel city of Switzerland. The Assembly held its second congress. After the election of the council, speeches were made about the current process in Kurdish and Turkish languages. In the speeches, women stated that self- governments have been declared in Silopi, Cizre, Nusaybin, Şırnak, Yüksekova, Bulanık and Varto since August, 2015. "Kurds announced that they would govern themselves to whole world. The fascist state became hysterical over Rojava women's revolution and the victory of Kobanê and the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). And now, they have attacked, burned and demolished the Kurdish cities which declared their self-government.
"The leader of the PKK, Abdullah Öcalan's prediction and 40 years Kurds struggle have destroyed the hopes of the state. Kurdish people develop their self-defense against the fascist state's attacks. This great resistance has been announced to the whole world with Sêvê, Pakize and Fatma ( Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Parliament Member, Seve Demir, Free Woman Congress (KJA) member, Fatma Uyar, and Silopi People's Assembly Co-Chair, Pakize Nayır were killed in the Silopi district of Şırnak on January 4) and Mehmet Tunç's sentence "We don't surrender, we resist. You should be proud of us." (Cizre Peoples' Assembly Co-President Mehmet Tunç had been trapped in a basement with wounded people in the Cizre district of Şırnak. He spoke live on a program and he gave the information about the wounded. However, the state forces attacked the basements. All wounded people and Mehmet Tunç were burned to death in the basement.)
The congress was ended after the election of Social Committee, Foreign Affairs, Culture, Media, Peace Mothers, Education, Organization, and the Young Women's Commission of the PYD.
