NEWS CENTER - Basque women from Euskal Herria sent a message of solidarity with Kurdish women through the Free Women's Congress (KJA) with the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day. They said, "We continue supporting your struggle, your lifes, your hopes and beliefs."

Basque women from Euskal Herria sent a message of solidarity with Kurdish women through the Free Women's Congress (KJA) with the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day.

The message reads; "One year ago, different feminist Associations of the Basque Country went to the start of the Women's World March. Hopeful times for all... However, a few months later the AKP's policies became much harder, even criminals. One year later we want to show you that we continue supporting your struggle, your life, your hopes and beliefs.

"Today, 5000 women have run through the roads and streets of San Sebastian, Basque Country, in the Lilaton, a race or cross in pro of our rights. We wanted to, somehow and humbly, pay tribute, on the one hand, to all the Kurdish women, and meanwhile and particularly, to KJA. Your courage and strength are reference for us.

"We wish we had the power and capacity to influence on European policies, to judge every State that infringes Human Rights in the name of an "anti-terrorist fight". We believe that if each country struggles against the oppressive policies from a feminist approach and builds its own liberating process we will more easily arrive at a just scenario in all over the world.

"We send you the most heartfelt feminist solidarity from Euskal Herria (Basque Country)."
