ŞIRNEX - State forces have continued to attack the center of Şırnak. Behind the barricades Cemile, a mother, said, "That's enough; I will never leave my home."
As state forces have continued to attack the center of Şırnak, the people are building the barricades against the attacks. One of them is Cemile (80). Cemile said that she would never leave her home against any attacks. "We were late to build the barricades and dig trenches. We are sick of the state of persecution. If I was young, I would take a weapon. However, I am old now."
Cemile said that they were forced to leave their village in Besta area (near Şırnak) in 1990s. Now they are trying to replace us from the cities. "I throw stones to the soldiers that time. Our people are resistant. The people can live on the mountains and in the deserts for days. I stayed in Besta alone for days. The massacre wasn't more than today. When one died, we mourned for days. However, now everthing is different than the past. We can not mourn.
"Our youths rebelled against the massacre. If the God willing, we will win, our part will win."
