ÊLIH - Ruşen Altun and Menekşe Ergün were executed in Batman on March 15. Menekşe Ergün (le nom de guerre Roza Botan) was sent off by thousands of women in Batman.

Menekşe Ergün (le nom de guerre Roza Botan) was executed in the Aydınlıkevler neighborhood of Batman on March 15 with another woman. Ayla Akat Ata, the speaker of Free Women's Congress (KJA), the administrators of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), the Mesopotamia Association of Assistance and Solidarity for Families with Lost Relatives (MEYA-DER), the co-chairs of Batman Municipality, the Peace Mothers and many citizens attended the funeral of Menekşe Ergün. Women carried the photographs of Ruşen and Menekşe. The ceremony was begun with stand in silence. People shouted the slogans sucg as "Martyrs are immortal", "Menekşe is immortal","Women, life, freedom" and "Long life leader Apo" (refer to Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the PKK).

DBP provincial co-chair Nurten Üzümcü made a speech in ceremony."Kurds are fighting for survival. The Kurds have no way except to resist. We should protect the struggle and resistance of Menekşe and Ruşen. This struggle will continue to the end."

After the ceremony, thousands of women buried Menekşe Ergün with slogans.
