'We lighted the fire of resistance out of obstinacy'

AMED - Co- speaksperson of the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit spoke at the Newroz celebration. Gülistan stated that Kurdish people have lighted the fire of Newroz against the oppression for centuries. "We lighted the fire of Newroz everywhere against the bans. We celebrated our Newroz." said Gülistan.

Historic Diyarbakır's Newroz organized with the motto of "We'll win resisting". The celebration of Newroz has continued in Diyarbakır. After Amed City Orchestra concerts, Co- speaksperson of the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit spoke at the Newroz celebration. Gülistan congratulated the people for their participation in Newroz despite the provocation of "bombs". She said that she brought the salutations from Turkey's cities. Gülistan stated that Kurdish people have lighted the fire of Newroz against the oppression for centuries. "We lighted the fire of Newroz everywhere against the bans. We celebrated our Newroz." said Gülistan.

Gülistan emphasized that the people, those who want to demolish Kurdistan, clear out Rojava and occupy every part of Kurdistan, must know that there are thousands of people like Mehmet Tunç, Pakize, Fatma and Sêvê (Mehmet Tunç was killed by state forces in a basement of Cizre, Pakize, Fatma and Sêvê were slain in Silopi). Gülistan said, "Our life is resistance. Our breath scares them. The people of Turkey want peace. They want a free and equal republic.The people, who are fed with blood, don't allow this. When a bomb explodes, they say "We have to get used to this", Can people get used to death? You can get used to death but we won't."

Gülistan emphasized that Kurdish people have no way except resist. "We can bring peace to this country, if we fight by resisting."
