'Read the carefully the message from Diyarbakır'

AMED - As spokesperson of Imrali delegation Sırrı Süreyya Önder called on the government to find a solution in Diyarbakır Newroz, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş said that the HDP is ready to take responsibility to restart the peace process and the message from Diyarbakır must be read carefully.

Diyarbakır's Newroz, whose mottos are "We'll win resising" and "Free leadership, Autonomous Kurdistan, Democratic Turkey", has continued with speeches and music concerts.

Spokesperson of Imrali delegation Sırrı Süreyya Önder read the messages of Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the PKK. Sırrı saluted the people as Imrali delegation.and then said, "We celebrated the peace Newroz here for three years. Mr. Öcalan sent messages to remark the dangers of war and the value of peace in these three years. We celebrate the Newroz by resisting under oppression in the midst of the conflict. We worked together for three years to get peace, freedom, an honorable life and a better country and world. If Abdullah Öcalan was here now, he would say; I told you that common struggle is to protect the dignity of the people of the region. You sent your tanks which you didn't send to your shrine, to your own land. I desist from the peace. Mr.Öcalan would tell Davutoğlu that "the Kurds cannot go their homes, the Turks cannot go out" Four words to explain the public order which the state talks about. Whereas, we were on the brink of peace, we could touch the peace if we extended our hands. They cannot scare us with hospitals, exile and grave. We won't surrender with these kinds of threatenings. Let's not pollute this earth with war and oppression."

After the speech of Sırrı Süreyya, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş spoke. Selahattin Demirtaş said, "We celebrated Newroz by announcing the good news of peace to all the people of the Middle East for three years. However, we celebrate the Newroz with death. For three years, we saw that the peace isn't a dream. We can come together with the democracy and law not with anti-democratic and unlawful way. Kurdish people want to live freely like without fear like all people. They don't want anything from another people; they want only the thing which is stolen from them. We can take refuge in morals and principle against the people those who create such environment of fear.

"Everyone must know that a peace process can not be continued by ignoring the Kurds. We are ready to take responsibility to restart the peace process. The AKP isn't an unifying party. We have to take lessons from the peace process and restart the peace process again. The Kurds don't resist deepening the war, they are resisting for peace against the war.

"We will never turn a blind eye to death of the children of our people. We will fight for peace until we have soul in our bodies. Ankara must listen carefully the message from Amed Newroz. You tried to scare and assimilate these people but you couldn't. Don't insist any more. Let's present the peace to the people. The mothers of Kurds and Turks mustn't cry any more. One day, we will present the free days to our children."
