Call for solidarity from women trades of Sur

AMED - Local trades haven't opened their stores for months due to the state's "curfew" which has been imposed in the Sur district of Diyarbakır for four months. Women trades of Sur reacted to the state's attacks and called for solidarity. They stated that Sur must be enlivened again.
Local trades of Sur have been suffered because they cannot open their stores for four months due to "curfew" which has been imposed in the town by the state. The stores owners called for solidarity with them. The stores owners said, "The ban was lifted, we were aggrieved during this period. We call on all Diyarbekır people to make shopping in Sur."
State forces's attacks have continued in the Sur district of Diyarbakır for months. Many houses have been demolished and many people who work and have stores in the town become unemployed owing to the state's war policies. The ban "curfew" was lifted recently. The people began to open their stores in the town. The ban was lifted however, de facto ban has continued in the town.
Vesile Trak is a woman who has a store in the town. She produces the stuffs herself and she sells these stuffs in her store. Vesile called for being enlivened the town. Vesile said, "We open our stores and wait for clients. We couldn't open our stores for three months. We, as women and trades had really difficult time during the ban. I opened this store myself and I sell my hand works here. I call for solidarity with Sur trades. I have six children; I have to look after my children."
Bedia Şima, another trade woman, said, "I opened this store with my brother. We didn't open it during the ban. We want peace environment like before. This blood must be stopped. I sell handmade scafts. Women produce these scafts and they give them to us to sell. We have to sell them for us and for women. So, I call on all people to make shopping here."
