Seven members of Diyarbakır Newroz Organizing Committee have been taken into custody. The head of Diyarbakır Newroz Organizing Committee and co-chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Hafize İpek, member of Presiding Board of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Seydi Fırat and Hüsnü Pervane, lawyer Mahmut Çifçi, Abdulgani Alakan, Ramazan Kaval and Ayşe Çelikbilek have been taken into custody. They were taken to Provincial Security Directorate.

Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor has launched four separate investigations about Diyarbakır Newroz. No information has been obtained if seven people have been taken into custody within the scope of these investigations.
