BEHDİNAN - The Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) fighters sew the uniform for the fighters in tailoring workshops, which founded under Media Defense Areas, under hard conditions of mountains. Their work has been intensified with coming of spring.
The fighters of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in the Media Defense Areas sew their clothes in a tailoring workshop to supply the needs of clothes despite all difficulties on mountains. According to ANF's news, PKK fighters have formed separately tailoring workshops in every area. One of the fighters Beritan Cudi stated that she has worked in the tailoring workshop for almost one year and they have sewn 150 or 180 clothes each day. "We sew the guerrilla uniforms from gabardine fabric. This fabric is a durable fabric to mountain conditions. A guerrilla uniform can be worn for one year. We use approximately six or seven meters fabric for each uniform. We sew the comfortable uniforms to not disturb our friends on mountains."
Newal Mêrdîn, one of the fighters, said, "We not only fight with weapons, but we also get training to create the infrastructure of the war. Preparing the uniforms is a part of this training. We have learned many things here. We serve the struggle like that."
Rojîn Berfîn joined the PKK in 2013. She has worked in the workshop for two years. Rojîn said, "Our precious martyrs created a life out of nothing on Kurdistan Mountains. We own the values of our martyrs by protecting them. So we know the meaning of our work. I am happy to do my job like my friends. A guerrilla must work in all fields. Today, I am sewing the uniforms for my comrades. But tomorrow, I can do another work. Our aim is to fight for the freedom."
Ruheyv Adnan, meanwhile, joined the PKK in 2014 in the Efrîn town of Rojava. She learned tailoring on mountain. Ruheyv said, "A revolutionist has to do everything. We are trying to be worthy of our leadership (refer to Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the PKK), martyrs, people and party. My comrades wear these uniforms. I am happy to sew the clothes for my comrades."
Ruken Zilan from Siirt has learned how to sew. Ruken said, "Our work has been intensified with coming of spring. We sew the clothes for our friends. Usually, the people join to guerrilla. We sew uniform for each new friend."
