DERÎK - Hanife Hüseyin, member of Rojava- Northern Syria Federal Democratic Constituent Assembly, made important statement about the organization of federal system. Hanife pointed out that an important success has been obtained by fighting tooth and nail in Rojava. "If needed, we will eat grass and soil but we will never leave our lands. We can lead a poor life but we will never sell ourselves. We won't live as slave. We will use our defense rights if someone attacks us." said Hanife.
We talked to Hüseyin, member of Rojava- Northern Syria Federal Democratic Constituent Assembly, about the organization of federal system. Hanife stated that they focus on a non-dictatorial central government. Hanife said, "After discussion and research, we found that the systems, which have been carried out until now, don't provide the equality of people and find solutions to social problems. We found out that Statist systems don't provide a democratic and lasting life in the Middle East. We understand that the societies want to govern themselves by rioting against this statist mentality and its dictator system. Being governed by others hasn't offered a solution and it has corrupted the values of the society.
"All of the Middle East has had a systemic crisis these days. The society shout "Enough" everywhere against dictatorial regime. While the communities have all multicolor, the statist mentality has imposed us one language, one color and one faith. The values such as love, respect and trust, which create the society, have been undermined. Our projects for freedom play the role of a fountain of life for the Middle East.
"We have continued our struggle for five-six years by organizing. We have organized in three cantons in form of democratic autonomy for two and half years. We have provided solutions to the needs of society. Different faith groups, people from national origin, young, elderly men and women carried out the discussion process together. An organizing committee has been formed by political, military and social movement. The Rojava and Northern Syria United Democratic System held its first meeting on March 16, 2015 with the participation of 125 delegates, which included Arab, Kurdish, Armenian, Turkmen, Chechen, Syriac and other ethnic groups. Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Syrians, Armenians, Turkmen and Chechens gathered to agree on the project of Democratic Federal System.
"We know the attacks on democratic federal system will be organized. We must be ready for these. If needed, we will eat grass and soil but we will never leave our lands. We can lead a poor life but we will never sell ourselves. We won't live as slave. We will use our defense rights if someone attacks us."
