Being child in Cizre: Children don't speak!

ŞIRNEX - After martial law under the name of "curfew" was lifted in the Cizre district of Şırnak, a report has been released about the children in Cizre. According to report, children in Cizre have many traumas. The parents of children said in the report that many of children don't speak and they have a deep fear due to what they experienced during the curfew while some start from their sleeps when they hear a noise.
24-hour curfew had been imposed in the Cizre district of Şırnak for 79 days. A report was prepared about the abuse of right by Diyarbakır Bar Association, Agenda: Child Association, Human Rights Association (İHD), Health Workers' Union and Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV) in the town during the curfew. The delegation members were in Yafes, Sur, Cudi and Nuh neighborhoods of Cizre on March 6-8 to talk to children.
According to TİHV's report about the abuse right in Cizre, at least 38 children died during the curfew between August 16, 2015 and March 18, 2016. Meanwhile, many people state that there are many dead people, including children whose bodies cannot be identified. The children died in the town are aged between 35-day-old baby to 18 year-old teenagers. According to the interviews in the report, the main problem was not to evacuated wounded children from the clashes environment. A witness said in the report, "My neighbor tried to take his children to hospital by carrying a white flag, however, someone opened fire on him." Many children got sick during the curfew. However, they couldn't be taken to hospital. A mother stated in the report that her child's tonsils were swollen but they couldn't go to doctor or buy drugs for him. "We used vinegar water. My child got sick because they had had to take shower with cold water in winter." said the mother.
As one teacher in Cizre S.U. said in the report, "My naughty child is not naughty now."A journalist in Cizre said that many children, who he knows, don't speak anymore. A father said, "Our children don't speak anymore." A mother, who has 8-year-old son, said, "My son talks in his sleep, he cries by saying, "Mom, I hear a noise, they will kill us."
The report reads;
*Some children are afraid of police, while some challenge to Special Forces without fearing.
*10-year-old child said, "Soldiers are better than police, policemen are bad people."
*13-year-old girl said, "Why were we trapped in house? Why did they rake our house? Why did they conduct raid on our house? Why did they try to kill us? What is difference between us and the children in the West?
