ŞIRNEX - Şırnak's district İdil resisted against genocidal attacks for 44 days. One woman named Yıldız Gerçin, who lives in the Turgur Özal neighborhood, invites the people to her garden by saying, "Here's Kobanê here". Her words sum the resistance and İdil.

İdil people have continued to return their houses in İdil after state forces' genocidal attacks which continued for 44 days in the town. We saw Yıldız Gerçin who lives in the Turgut Özal neighborhood where the most intense attacks were carried out. She invites the people to her garden by saying, "Here's Kobanê here". After we went into her garden, she began to cook rice of wheat grains and white bean stew on the fire. She explained us why she likened İdil to the resistance of Kobanê. "We don't care about the demolished houses, as long as the youths weren't killed. We will never leave our homes." said Yıldız.

"These special forces members are Daesh members. Erdoğan brought Daesh members to here. They killed our youths. They say, "We will rebuild their houses." We don't want your apartments and properties. We want nothing from you. We don't want your help, water and food.

"We have same identity cards with them. We don't want anything from them. We just want our culture and speak in our language. Erdoğan began to practice this savagery after June 7 elections. Erdoğan sacrificed the youths for the elections. Police, soldiers and their families are partners of Erdoğan. They must riot against Erdoğan to not allow their children being sacrificed. Don't let the hearts of mothers and fathers are hurt.

"They say us, "Leave your lands". These lands are our lands. Erdoğan, soldiers and police must leave these lands not us. They must know that we will follow our children's path to the end."
