Efrîn women say they use thyme in their meals and also use it as medicine. Women stated that thyme is good particularly for skin and eyes and it is also good for many diseases. Emine Ebdo is one of the women who collect thyme.

Emine said that they collect thyme on mountains every year. "Efrîn is known with its natural. Fruits, vegetables and herbs grow here due to the nature of Efrîn and we collect them. We benefit from these fruitful lands. We take care of our health. We add the thyme into olives, meals, and yogurt. Thyme is good particularly for skin and eyes and it is also good for many diseases. Coolection of thyme is difficult, but we are happy with this. Being communed with nature give us peace."
