ŞIRNEX - Beybun Malgaz, whose house has been burned and demolished, is witness of the oppression of the state from 1990 to today. Beybun's house have been burned and demolished four times until now. "The state asks from me to say "terrorist burned my house" but everything is clear, the state burned and demolished my house." said Beybun.

People's houses have been burned and demolished during genocidal attacks under the name of "curfew" which continued for 44 days in the İdil district of Şırnak. The people have begun to rebuild their life by returning to their houses. Beybun Malgaz (56) stayed in front of her house and reminded the past by looking at her house.

A nomad woman Beybun told us her life story. "State forces burned our village three times. They left me without house with my six children in the winter. They took my husband and three children when they conducted raid on our village and they tortured them. I couldn't understand what freedom movement means these years. Then I understand that it means passion for freedom. The youths had their eyes shine with joy. This impressed me deeply. We lived in a village of İdil in 1990. The state first had burned our village. We rebuilt it. But they didn't stop and they burned our village three times. That time, we had to leave our village. We moved to the center of İdil."

Beybun stated that the state violence contined in İdil. "My husband had been tortured many times. There was no solid bone in his body. We had to leave our village due to the state's oppression. We moved to the center of İdil. The state didn't leave us alone here. They conducted raids on our house many times. They arrested my husband. My husband couldn't stand being tortured and he passed away. My house have been burned and demolished four times for 23 years. The state has conducted raids on my house 36 times. Well, the state doesn't leave us alone after my husband died."

Beybun continued to talk by saying, "The state asks from me to say "terrorist burned my house," but everything is clear, the state burned and demolished my house. I will continue to say this no matter what it does."
