AMED - Lalehan Kurt has lived as "guest"for 60 years. She lived without identity card for 23 years. She had to register three of her children on the name of her mother in law. Police asked her how she could live without identity card. She told them, "I lived without identity card for years so I don't belong to anywhere. Everywhere is my country."

After President Erdoğan has threatened his opponents with "denaturalization", Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ supported President Erdoğan by expressing, "Mr. President stipulates new legislations with his statement. Works related to this statement will be carried out". The stories of women, who haven't identity card in Kurdistan, answer these discourses.

Mother of seven Lalehan Kurt (60), who lived without identity card for 23 years, had to register three of her children on the name of her mother in law. As her a son and daughter joined the PKK, one of her son was arrested. Lalehan stil say "Life is resistance" despite all attacks and pressure on her. I met with Lalehan during a long voyage. Lalehan received an identity of veteran after her husband had been wounded during the war in Cyprus. Lalehan couldn't have an identity card due to her father didn't go into the service. Lalehan said, "The state didn't register us, because my father didn't want to go into the service. I lived without identity card for 23 years. I had to register my three children on the name of my mother in law."

Lalehan stated that she was taken into custody while she joined an action to react the arrest of the leader of PKK Abdullah Öcalan. Police asked her identity card. That time it was revealed that she had lived without identity card. Police asked her how she could live without identity card for 23 years. She told them, "I lived without identity card for years so I don't belong to anywhere. Everywhere is my country." Lalehan said that women are the beginning of the whole society. No one can put the women in an area. Everywhere is the country of women.

She remained in the custody for four days. Then police gave her "Visitor" card and she lived with this card for years. She had to go to police station every year to renew her "visitor" card. Then she has an identity card reads "Veterans in Cyprus".

Lalehan hasn't got any information about her son who joined the PKK in 1993. She has got information from her daughter and other son several times. She said that she joined a fest and she came across with her son by change. She said, "We went to somewhere for a festival. I hear one said "Friends are coming". I thought all of them are my children and I went to see them. I saw my son in front of me suddenly. I didn't tell anyone that he was my son. No one understood that he was my son. Then, my son had wounded in a clash and he was arrested. He is jailed now. Meanwhile, my daughter joined the PKK to raise the freedom and women's movement. I am proud of my children. Particularly, I am proud of my daughter Dilan, because my daughter joined the PKK for me and the women those who raped and under pressure."
