Clashes continue in Şırnak, Nusaybin

NEWS CENTER - Heavy clashes have continued in Şırnak and Nusaybin since genocidal attacks under the name of "curfew" began, the people's houses have been demolished by tanks.

ŞIRNAK

Genocidal attacks have intensified on the 28th day in Şırnak. Tanks and armored vehicles, which have been deoplyed on the Mişûlê, Serê Sirkê and Kendêlîş cemeteries, bombed the resistance neighborhoods, particularly Gazipaşa, İsmetpaşa, Bahçelievler, Cumhuriyet and Dicle neighborhoods yesterday.

Heavy clashes erupted between state forces and the Civilian Defense Units YPS/YPS-JIN when state forces tried to enter the neighborhoods just after the bombardment began. Many ambulances were dispatched to clashes areas. The ambulances headed for 23rd Şırnak Gendarmerie Border Division Command and Şırnak State Hospital. According reports received from local sources, there are casualties. However, No certain information have been obtained about the casualties. The attacks, which began in the morning, have continued. Fire broke out in many houses due to the attacks.

Meanwhile, heavy clashes erupted between state forces and YPS/YPS-JIN in the Yeni and Bahçelievler neighborhood while state forces were trying to enter the neighborhoods.

Şırnak's Cumhuriyet neighborhood mukhtar Hizni Uğur has been taken into custody during house raid.

SİLOPİ

24-hour curfew has continued on seventh day in the Silopi district of Şırnak. As state forces have blockaded the Barbaros and Başak neighborhoods of the town, they have continued to bomb the neighborhoods. The houses have been bombed particularly by tanks.

There isn't any clash in the town; however, still the tanks have demolished the houses. Demolishing the houses is come to mind the urgent expropriation has been declared by cabinet decision.

462 houses have become useless and 3,000 houses have been damaged in the attacks which began after 24-hour curfew was declared on December 14 and it was imposed on the town for 37 days. However, 24-hour curfew was declared in the town again on April 4. State forces have trying to damage the houses to form the basis of the urgent expropriation.

NUSAYBİN

As genocidal attacks have entered in the 29th day in the Nusaybin district of Mardin, the resistances against the attacks have been increased. Heavy clashes erupted in the Fırat, Abdulkadirpaşa, Yenişehir and Dicle neighborhoods yesterday. State forces attacked the neighborhoods last night by using mortar and howitzer. Clashes erupted between state forces and the Civilian Defense Units YPS/YPS-JIN when state forces tried to enter the neighborhoods. The YPS/YPS-JIN members carried out a rocket attack on a Dragon-type armored vehicle. Three special forces were seriously wounded in the attack and they were taken to Nusaybin State Hospital.

State forces blockaded the neighborhoods in the morning and they began to demolish the houses again. Many houses have been demolished and burned by mortar and howitzer fire.

Meanwhile, the clashes between state forces and the Civilian Defense Units YPS/YPS-JIN have continued in the Zeynelabidin and Kışla neighborhoods.

As heavy clashes have continued in the district, YPS General Coordination announced that two members named Abdurahman Oral (nom de guerre Xalıt Mêrdîn) and Abdullah Karaduman ( nom de guerre Şoreş Nisêbîn) of YPS died in the clashes.

Human Rights Association: A life corridor must be opened in Nusaybin

Mardin Branch of Human Rights Association made a statement about the ongoing curfew in Nusaybin. The statement reads; "The families, who applied to our association, state that their children's dead bodies remain in the streets of Nusaybin. The families demand to retrieve their children's dead bodies. It is well known that there are many civilians in clashes areas. We, as the members of Human Rights Association, believe in that social problems can be solved with dialogue." IHD demand a life corridor to be opened.
