İSTANBUL – Peace Mothers Assembly members reacted to the isolation which has been imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and they demanded to lift the isolation and restart to negotiations.

The PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan hasn’t been allowed to meet with his family members and lawyers since April 5, 2015. The members of the Peace Mothers assembly in Istanbul spoke to JINHA about the isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The mothers said that the isolation must be lifted on the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to open the door of the peace.

“No peace and negotiation can be without the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan,” said Nafiye Başaran, who is a member of Peace Mothers in Istanbul. “Kurdish people represent Mr. Öcalan, Mr.Öcalan represents Kurdish people. Imposing isolation on Mr.Öcalan means imposing isolation on Kurdish people. As mothers, who demand peace and campaign for peace, we demand to lift the isolation that has been imposed on Mr. Öcalan. We want the negotiating table to reform and the peace to be brought in these lands now. The Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan only can stop this war. So, the isolation must be lifted and restarted to negotiations.”

Another member of Peace Mothers Perihan Akbulut, meanwhile, said, “Blood cannot clear the blood. This war and this blood must be stopped. The mothers of soldiers and police must keep their children out of war. They must be in the streets for peace. The isolation which has been imposed on the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan must be lifted and the peace process must be restarted.”

Sultan Bozkurt, meanwhile, expressed her reaction by saying, “the isolation on Mr.Öcalan, our youths and our people must be lifted. We want peace and freedom. Imposing isolation on Mr.Öcalan means war. The isolation must be lifted for peace.”
